Claude Code mods

Small Claude Code mods (plugins whose hooks run inside the session).

needs-you

A panel beside your chat that holds everything the session needs from you, so you don't have to scroll long, busy streams to find it.

  • Asks tab: questions, approvals, commands only you can run, things to review, blockers. Each item can be replied to, snoozed (1h, 4h, 8h, tomorrow, or any time with /snooze 2h) or marked done.
  • Inbox tab: news that needs no answer: a task finished, a feature added, a change of plan. You only press Got it.
  • Read more: every entry is one short line, with a longer plain-words explanation behind a button.
  • Saved per project folder. It survives restarts, resume and compaction.
  • The model is told to write headlines under 100 characters and explanations in everyday words.

Commands: /needs opens the panel, /snooze 2h, /snooze <key> 90m, /snooze wake all.

Install

Needs a Claude Code build with mods (2.1.287 or later).

claude plugin marketplace add purpledotstudio/claude-mods
claude plugin install needs-you@andy-mods

Then restart, or run /reload-plugins.

Update later:

claude plugin marketplace update andy-mods
claude plugin update needs-you@andy-mods

What it adds

  • Tools the model can call: flag, tell, resolve, list.
  • A standing instruction in the model's system prompt, kept through compaction.
  • A docked pane (wide fullscreen terminal) or a band above the prompt (narrow).

Read plugins/needs-you/hooks/register.tsx before installing, as with any plugin. claude plugin validate plugins/needs-you checks it.
