hooks/register.tsxthe hooks: routing at prompt.submit / skill.prompt / turn.step, !+/!-, accounting, /router, /router-cache, /router-budget, /router-help, /router-start, /router-why, /router-effort and the other aliases, escalation at tool.call, compression at session.append, the style section at prompt.compose; model ids per tier at the top
hooks/classify.tslocal EN/PL rules (code, non-code, simple git), negations and size signals, research → Sonnet policy, dissatisfaction, follow-up detection, the Haiku judge's rubric, the laya-serve question
hooks/adapt.tseffort per task (never max or ultracode), the Desktop effort labels, the ultracode check, the learned per-category bias
hooks/why.tsturns the last decision entry into the /router why explanation
hooks/cost.tslist prices, cache-aware turn cost, switch economics, the savings and cache-hit ledger
hooks/compact.tsauto-compact: renders the transcript, sums with the cheap model in ~100k-token chunks, keeps the recent tail word for word
hooks/compress.tsrtk-lite: command families, noise and passing-test filters, folding, cutting, rtk pipe filters
hooks/crew.tscrew mode: worker definitions, the orchestrator's section, delegation hints
hooks/style.tsthe terse and adhd system-prompt sections
types/index.d.tsthe $.state contract
tests/claude plugin test .; classify.test.ts holds the labelled prompt corpus (≥85% target), why.test.ts the explanations, adapt.test.ts effort and learning

Prices in hooks/cost.ts are Anthropic's first-party list prices of October 2026; update them when they change. After touching the rules in hooks/classify.ts, run the tests: tests/classify.test.ts holds the prompt set they are scored against. Every decision is mirrored to ~/.claude/model-router/decisions.json; copy a misrouted prompt or effort from there into the corpus with the tier it should have had.

7Every token you write is paid for. Write the least text that fully answers.
8- Start with the answer, command or change. No preamble ("Great question", "Let me…", "I'll…").
9- No recap of what you just did beyond one line naming the result. No closing offers ("Let me know…", "Hope this helps").
10- Do not restate the request, narrate routine tool calls, or echo back code and diffs the user can already see.
11- Prefer a short list or a code block to paragraphs. Show at most 5 items per list; group and rank the rest.
12- Batch related shell commands into one call. Read the part of a file you need (grep, sed -n, offsets), not the whole file, unless you are about to edit it.
13- Brevity never deletes the answer: when asked to explain or walk through something, explain fully. Confirm before destructive actions as always.`

15// Adapted from i-have-adhd by Ayoub Ghriss (github.com/ayghri/i-have-adhd, MIT).
16const ADHD = `# ADHD-friendly output
17The reader has ADHD: working memory is small, starting is the hardest step, and buried wins do not register. Shape every answer so it can be acted on now.
181. The first line is the next action: a command, a path, an edit. Context after it, if at all.
192. Multi-step work is a numbered list: one bounded action per step, the fewest steps that work.
203. If anything is left open, end with exactly one concrete next step doable in under two minutes.
214. No tangents: finish this, then offer a second issue as one separate question.
225. Restate where the work stands each turn ("Step 3 of 5 done: schema updated. Next: backfill.").
236. Time estimates in minutes or hours, never "a bit".
247. Make finished work visible: what now works and how to try it.
258. Errors are matter-of-fact: cause, location, fix. Never "Uh oh".
269. Show at most 5 items per list; group and rank the rest.
2710. No preamble, no recap, no closing pleasantries.
28Break these rules to explain fully when asked (with headers), to confirm before destructive actions, after three "still broken" turns (name the assumption that may be wrong, ask one diagnostic question), and to ask one short question when the request is genuinely ambiguous.
29Batch related shell commands into one call, and read the part of a file you need rather than all of it.`
