README

review-map

A Claude Code mod that turns a pull request, or your uncommitted changes, into an interactive page that is easier to review than a plain diff.

/review-map 1234 maps the change with a model, runs a few local checks, writes one self-contained HTML page and opens it in your browser.

What you get

  • Change map: the changed files grouped into themes, with the links between them and a risk colour per theme.
  • Flow Map and States: the run-time sequence of calls and the state machines the change touches, when it has any. Several flows get a picker.
  • Review list: a suggested reading order (by theme, bottom-up, top-down or the model's own) with a reason per file and a "next step" path. Tick files off as you go.
  • Risk flags: sensitive areas (auth, crypto, payments, migrations, config, raw HTML, possible secrets) and convention checks on the added lines. Click a flag to jump to its files.
  • Full diffs: click any file for its diff with syntax highlighting, or its whole file.

Install

/plugin marketplace add nvtdev/review-map
/plugin install review-map@nvtdev-mods
/reload-plugins

You need the GitHub CLI (gh), logged in with gh auth login, for pull requests. Uncommitted changes only need git.

Use

/review-map # uncommitted changes in the current folder
/review-map 1234 # a PR of the default repository
/review-map 1234 --repo healee-md # another repository (a bare name belongs to Heal8)
/review-map 1234 --repo owner/name # any repository
/review-map https://github.com/owner/name/pull/1234
/review-map 1234 --refresh # map again, even if this diff was mapped before
/review-map config # list the settings
/review-map config model opus # change one

The same request again reopens the saved map without calling the model.

Settings

SettingDefaultWhat it does
modelsonnetThe model that groups the files: sonnet, opus or haiku
defaultOrderthemeThe review order the page opens on
repoChecksonConvention checks (tabs, double quotes, file names, localization, migrations, tests)
lineChecksonChecks on the added lines
sensitiveAreasonFlag sensitive areas
openBrowseronOpen the page in the browser; off just prints its path
repoHeal8/healee-platformThe repository PRs are read from when --repo is not given

The repository checks and the default repository are written for the Healee platform. Switch repoChecks off, and set repo, to use it elsewhere.

Development

The mod is a folder of TypeScript hooks. To try changes, point CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS at the folder and run /reload-plugins. Check and test with claude plugin validate . and claude plugin test ..

Give a participant's or a step's main changed file as "file" when it has one, using an exact path from the list. Mark each step "added" (new in this change), "changed" (existing behaviour this change alters) or "unchanged" (existing behaviour the change relies on); "kind" is call, return or async (an event, queue message or webhook). Give a second, third or fourth flow only when it is a genuinely separate path (another trigger or another outcome, such as a refund next to a payment), never to pad; most changes have one. Use an empty "flows" list when the change has no run-time path worth drawing (docs, refactors, configuration). If the change adds or alters statuses or lifecycle states (an enum, a status field, a state machine), also fill "stateCharts" with one chart per separate state machine (up to 4), each with up to 9 states and 18 transitions marked added, changed or unchanged; otherwise use an empty list.`
